A Day in the Life

A while back I was reading about a project on Ali Edwards blog about documenting the everyday in photos. I loved the idea but was just too busy at the time to do it. Since we are on school holidays at the moment I thought it would be agreat opportunity to give the project a go.

Here are today's photos:

This is the view that greets me first thing every morning when I opened the curtains. It was a dull and dreary view this morning, but those gorgeous windows always make me happy.

The first room I visited this morning, why do I always have so much laundry?

Abbey goofing around in the laundry while I fold the washing that has dried overnight in the drying cupboard.

Washing all folded and ready to go to it's various homes.

My gorgeous niece and nephew arrive for a play. Here is Hayley eating her breakfast.

Time for teeth and hair brushing and face washing.

Tom making the most of school holidays.

The kids playing vets in the lounge room.

My to-do list all organised.

Snack time, Cassidy baked some orange and poppy seed muffins and we cut up some delicious fresh pineapple. No Nat, it is not really red cordial I am feeding your children, it just looks like it, lol.

Working on the prices for our extension and some org4me stuff.

Mmmmmm, Lady grey. Getting me through the tedious process of adding up quotes for our new home.

The view from my computer, distracting me and making me wish for warmer weather.

Things got really busy around lunchtime so that was a far as I got in photos today, hope to get some more tomorrow.

It all seems rather dull and boring now but I know that in ten years I will love to see these photos and will reminisce on how life was when my kids were still small.

Yes, it has been a while....

...but I am back!

It's only been 10 months since my last post!

Lots going on, we have bought a new house. It is a post war, cream brick home of 13.5 squares. It needs heaps of work and we are going to extend. The plans have been drawn up, we settle in 2 weeks and then the work begins! It should be fantastic when it is finished, it will be our dream home with everything I have ever wanted in it (hopefully, all the quotes aren't in yet) and it is all very exciting. And quite daunting as there is so much work to do.

It is going to be hard to leave the beautiful home we are renting. It is an absolute stunner, a completely renovated Californian bungalow, and the owners spared no expense. Unfortunately it has very little back yard which was not really an issue in the summer as it has a magnificent inground pool but there isn't enough room for the kids to ride their bikes or kick a football. At our last home the kids spent most of their time outside and here I really struggle to get them to go outside.

School holidays began today which meant a lovely sleep in until 8.00am. The kids were pretty good today, they helped me with the washing, Cass cooked some muffins and we got out for a walk this afternoon. Their cousins are coming for the morning tomorrow so that should keep them amused.

I have plans to clean out the kids art supply cupboard tomorrow which seems to have taken on a life of its own and is breeding mess so hopefully all will go to plan and I'll get to that. My digital photos are also a bit of a shambles, I has grand plans of sorting those out on the weekend but ended up spending most of the weekend out getting prices for building materials and fittings, then on quotes. Maybe I'll also get to those while the kids are playing.

Oh, and I'll post some photos of the new house as soon as we settle. Wait till you see it, it is a shocker!!!
